Our Story
Skyecrüe was born in 2022 from a simple but powerful observation: the world isn't always built for every child, but it should be. As a Special Education teacher, I saw firsthand the "financial cliff" families face and the lack of representation for kids with multiple disabilities—including Deafblindness, Autism, and Kabuki Syndrome.
What started as a single design has grown into a movement. We created Skyecrüe to be the brand I couldn't find—one that combines high-quality advocacy gear with direct, tangible action. We aren't just selling hoodies; we are building a Crüe that stands behind every "Good Kid" fighting for their place in the world.
The Vision
To build a world where disability is met with radical inclusion, where families have the equipment they need to thrive, and where no caregiver ever has to walk their journey alone.
Our Mission
At Skyecrüe, we provide the voice, the tools, and the community to ensure every child with a disability is seen, supported, and celebrated.
A Note from the Founder
The Heart of the Crüe
My journey into this community began with my daughter, Skye. Because she is blind with multiple disabilities, we were fortunate enough to qualify for the Penrickton Center for Blind Children in 2018.
It was there that our entire world shifted. We didn’t just find support; we found a philosophy. We learned the heartbeat of advocacy and the power of Active Learning—the belief that every child, regardless of their challenges, deserves to be an active participant in their own life. It was at Penrickton that we first heard the mantra that would define our family and our future: Good People. Good Things. Good Kids.
From Advocacy to the Classroom
The lessons I learned as a "Penrickton parent" stayed with me. In 2021, when Skye’s school was short-staffed, I stepped in as a paraprofessional to bring that spirit of active learning and advocacy into the trenches. That work led me to my true calling: officially teaching Special Education in 2023.
Every day in my classroom, I see the power of representation. I saw how much it mattered for a child to have a voice, and I also saw the barriers—specifically the staggering costs of adaptive equipment that insurance often denies. Skyecrüe was born to bridge that gap.
Wearable Advocacy & Real Impact
When you see Braille or ASL on a soft, durable hoodie, it is a tribute to Skye and the foundation we built at Penrickton. It’s about sparking the conversations that lead to true inclusion.
Every purchase from our shop—whether it’s a rugged, insulated tumbler for a fellow caregiver or an engraved token to carry as a physical reminder—fuels our Impact Fund. This fund allows us to provide the adaptive tools that give our kids the independence and active lives they deserve.
Good People. Good Things. Good Kids.
With gratitude and hope,
Jasmine Gibson, Founder of Skyecrüe
